Tutorial: Easy Ruffle Gloves

I know, I know it has been FAR too long since I have posted. Work and Christmas have really caught up with me. But I do have some very special Christmas tutorials planned.

To start I have these simple gloves which can be made in less than 5 minutes!

Supplies:
Cheap gloves (I bought mine at Walmart 2 for $1.50 USD)

Cut 2 pieces of ribbon into 15" strips. Sew each together into a loop!

Burn the ends to make sure they won't fray!

Now there are 2 ways to do the ruffles!

Method 1:
To make the ruffles like this turn your gloves inside out and follow the method below!

Method 2:
To make the ruffles like this, use the method below on your gloves not inside out.

Pin the ribbon on like so. Make sure the middle of each side of the loop of ribbon are on the middle of the back and front of the glove.

Make sure the ribbon is hanging over a bit if you are doing method 1!

Stretch the glove over the end of your sewing machine, stretch the glove while you sew a zig-zag stitch over the middle of the ribbon.

Once you sew all the way around you are DONE!

Here is what it looks like using method 2:

And method 1:

If you are using thinner ribbon you can sew 2 ruffles...

That's all! Enjoy!

Happy Ruffling!

Tutorial: Shorts Pattern to PJ Pants

My baby niece's birthday just passed and along with her presents I wanted to make her something! Usually I decide what to make based on my fabric stash, when I looked through I saw this adorable poodle flannel fabric hat I bought at JoAnn's a few weeks ago. It was perfect! So I set out to make pajama pants, seeing as though I have never made them before I thought I would have some major difficulty.

I chose the Kid Shorts Pattern by DanaMadeIt. I researched the length of pants because I was going to have to extend the shorts obviously. I made a 2T so they needed to be 20 inches long. So I measured from the waistband of the pattern down to 20 inches on the fabric, added an inch and pinned the pattern to the fabric. Then I just used the shorts shape and free handed the pant legs. Really it's not too hard.

Then I sewed them like regular shorts...long shorts.

And voila! It was a cinch, much easier than I expected it to be!

And of course sewed an adorable button on.

Recipe: Easy Funnel Cakes

Have you ever just wanted a funnel cake REALLY bad? But you weren't near baseball fields, fairs, or anything that would sell funnel cakes.

What if I told you, you could make your very own funnel cakes at HOME!?
They may look a little funny but let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS!

I know I just did a recipe post but it seemed to be a hit so maybe I will keep doing them!

All you need is pancake mix, milk, eggs, powdered sugar, and canola or vegetable oil!

Mix together:
1 Egg
1/2 Cup of Milk
1 Cup of Pancake Mix

Mix together until there are no lumps!

This is the hard part....dump your mixture into a plastic bag. I know. Its going to be messy so do it in the sink. Or you could put it in a squirt bottle.

Cut a small corner off the bottom of the bag.

Heat up your oil, if it is too hot your funnel cake will burn immediately so make sure you do a test run!

Squirt your funnel cake in random swirly motions, as soon as you see it tan on the bottom flip it. It will only take a few seconds!

Now take it out, put it on a plate, and sift powder sugar on top!

Happy Funnel Caking!

Recipe: 4 Ingredient Sorta Healthy Cookies

Today I am doing something very different! A RECIPE! You didn't know I could cook did you? Me neither. Really I am not that good at it, but there are some things that I think are normal to cook that I would love to show you!

So today we are making Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, they only use 4 ingredients  and are delicious! And it's even better because they are sorta healthyish!

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
1 Cup of Oats
2 Bananas
Lots of Chocolate Chips

Break your bananas in half and place them in your bowl!

Blend the bananas until they look like this!

Now mix 1 cup of oats in!

Add half a cup of peanut butter or as much as desired!

Add lots of chocolate chips! I added about half a bag!

Blend well!

Put your oven on 350 Degrees!

Make the cookies into balls and place them on a foil lined tray!

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden!

That's it!

Happy Baking!
