Tutorial: Sewing Machine Pin Cushion + Where did she go?

I have been absent for what feels like forever. I have worked everyday for the past 2 weeks including weekends and I am starting back to school. Needless to say I have been SUPER busy. So bare with me. Tutorials are coming I promise.

So to get back in the game I have a super simple tutorial for you that is ADORABLE!

This adorable pin cushion wraps around your sewing machine so you can always have a pin cushion near by!

So today you will need:

Elastic
A scrap of Fabric

Pretty simple huh? The best kind of elastic is 1/4 inch. The super thin kind.

First measure around your sewing machine and cut your elastic about an inch shorter than this length.

The cut a rectangle of fabric twice as wide as you want it. To get this length I measured the front of my sewing machine and multiplied by 2.

Then take your Elastic and place it 1/4 of the length from the bottom. You will be folding the fabric in half so this will put the elastic in the middle.

Fold the fabric in half squishing the elastic in between 2 layers of fabric and pin down.

Start sewing the short side that your elastic is pinned in, turn and sew the long side and STOP.

Your elastic should be sticking out the other side, pull to turn the tube inside out.

Use scissors to poke the corners out and now you have this!

Now stuff!

Fold the edges of the short side in and put the loose end of elastic in!

Now sew across the short side securing the elastic.

That is it!

Happy Sewing!
