Tutorial: Cross Body Purse

Finally! A tutorial! And not just any tutorial....A BAG TUTORIAL. I have never done one so bare with me.

You will need:
2 Colors of fabric

Your fabric needs to be cut 2 times the height you want it, and the width the same. Place the right sides together and sew all the away around leaving a 3 inch hole in one corner.

Turn inside out and poke out the corners!

Cut out your strip for the handle/strap. You need to measure from the front side of your hip, across the opposite shoulder, and to the back side of the same hip. Then add 5", cut the width twice how wide you want it. Fold in half length wise and  sew one short side and the long side. Turn inside out.

Fold the raw ends in and top stitch around the whole strap.

Take the purse and fold it up so its the final size of the purse. Sew the 2 sides. Lay the handle on like so.

Sew around making sure to only sew through ONE LAYER! NOT BOTH!

Measure the size of your pocket.

Use the same method we did with the purse leaving one open hole and turning it inside out.

Sew it again through ONE layer leaving the top side open.

Now cut a small strip big enough to go from the top of one side of your purse to the top of the other inside. Use the same method, cutting twice the width, folding in half, sewing, leaving a hole and turning inside out.

Sew a small piece of velcro to the end of one side of the closure!

Sew the other side inside the pocket as shown,  making sure the Velcro is facing up.

Line the Velcro up and sew it on the outside of the purse so it can close!

That's  it!

Happy sewing!
